- Try building your search one term at a time, and be as specific as you can! Search term example: "chronic cough".
- Do not enter multiple findings such as "anemia, chronic cough, weight loss, vomiting" all at the same time.
- After selecting your term from the search results a list of possible diagnoses will be generated. If the list is too long, you will be able to narrow it down by entering additional terms.
- Do not enter values such as "heart rhythm 110" or "sodium 125", instead use "tachycardia" or "hyponatremia".

- Definition
-
A nutritional condition produced by a deficiency of VITAMIN B 12 in the diet, characterized by megaloblastic anemia; Since vitamin B 12 is not present in plants, humans have obtained their supply from animal products, from multivitamin supplements in the form of pills, and as additives to food preparations; A wide variety of neuropsychiatric abnormalities is also seen in vitamin B 12 deficiency and appears to be due to an undefined defect involving myelin synthesis; (From Cecil Textbook of Medicine, 19th ed, p848)-------------------------------------------------Vitamin B12 Deficiency ;Cobalamin Deficiency;
Vitamin B12 Deficiency is characterized by an abnormally low blood levels of this vitamin; The disorder can be caused by a poor diet, inadequate absorption or utilization of B12 that may follow stomach and intestinal surgery or an increase in certain intestinal organisms; The deficiency causes changes in the blood and the central nervous system; Injection of this vitamin usually cures the disorder if the underlying cause can be corrected-------------[NORD 2005]---------------
