- Try building your search one term at a time, and be as specific as you can! Search term example: "chronic cough".
- Do not enter multiple findings such as "anemia, chronic cough, weight loss, vomiting" all at the same time.
- After selecting your term from the search results a list of possible diagnoses will be generated. If the list is too long, you will be able to narrow it down by entering additional terms.
- Do not enter values such as "heart rhythm 110" or "sodium 125", instead use "tachycardia" or "hyponatremia".

- Definition
-
Uveoparotid fever syndrome in sarcoidosis [r/o Mikulicz with more tonsil and lacrimal involvement]; true complication of chronic sarcoidosis; Uveoparotid fever is a syndrome of: uveitis; parotid gland enlargement; sometimes facial palsy, which is usually temporary; it may be caused by sarcoidosis; Ocular involvement: Anterior uveitis is the most common finding, which may be associated with fever and parotid swelling (also called uveoparotid fever); Chronic uveitis, most commonly occurring in African Americans, can lead to adhesions, glaucoma, cataract formation, and blindness; Although uveitis is most common, any part of the eye may be affected; Lymphatic system: One third of patients with sarcoidosis have palpable lymph nodes that are moveable and nontender; Right paratracheal lymph node enlargement is most commonly seen, followed next by cervical nodes; Also known as: Heerfordt-Mylius syndrome; Heerfordt-Waldenström syndrome
Waldenström’s uveoparotitis; synonyms: Febris uveoparotidea, febris uveoparotidea subchronica, uveoparotid fever, neuro-uveoparotitis syndrome, uveoparotitic paralysis, uveoparotic paralysis, uveoparotid fever, uveoparotitis, uveo-parotitis syndrome, uveomeningitic syndrome; A peculiar course of sarcoidosis with enlargement of the parotid glands, mild fever, and uveitis, and facial nerve palsy; There may be associated hyperalgesia, papilloedema, meningism and pleocytosis on the cerebrospinal fluid due to sarcoidosis; Other clinical features may include hilar adenopathy, generalized lymphadenopathy, visceral lesion and skin rash; A rare disease which is probably a manifestation of Boeck’s disease; Etiology is unknown; Young adults are usually affected, males more often than females; [Waldenström"s uveoparitis had been entered as a separate entity under Jan Gösta Waldenström, Swedish internist, 1906-1996].
