Bisphosphonate drug inhibits osteoclast activity; used in Paget"s bone disease; used in hypercalcemia of malignancy and ostelytic metastatic bone lesions parenteral oral preparation.----------------------------------
Parenteral bisphosphonates are particularly useful for patients who cannot tolerate oral bisphosphonates.Pamidronate, 60–120 mg intravenously over 2–4 hours, may produce improvements lasting several months.
