- Try building your search one term at a time, and be as specific as you can! Search term example: "chronic cough".
- Do not enter multiple findings such as "anemia, chronic cough, weight loss, vomiting" all at the same time.
- After selecting your term from the search results a list of possible diagnoses will be generated. If the list is too long, you will be able to narrow it down by entering additional terms.
- Do not enter values such as "heart rhythm 110" or "sodium 125", instead use "tachycardia" or "hyponatremia".

progressive ascending motor neuron paralysis frequently following an enteric or respiratory infection; understood to be from demyelination syndrome peripheral nerves triggered by humoral autoantibodies; usually but not always self limited; can be lethal untreated with respiratory muscle paralysis; Most cases preceded by GI/Viral illness and most of those are campylobacter jejuni [shared myelin-like antigen]----------------------------------

Landry-Guillain-Barre-Strohl Syndrome;Post-Infective; Polyneuritis; Acute Motor Axonal Neuropathy; Acute Motor Neuropathy with Conduction Block; Acute Motor-Sensory Axonal Neuropathy Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy (CIDP); Miller-Fisher Syndrome; Multifocal Motor Neuropathy; Multifocal Motor Sensory Demyelinating Neuropathy; Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS) is a very rare, rapidly progressive disorder that consists of inflammation of the nerves (polyneuritis) and, usually, muscle weakness, often progressing to frank paralysis; Although the precise cause of GBS is unknown, a viral or respiratory infection precedes the onset of the syndrome in about half of the cases; This has led to the theory that GBS may be an autoimmune disease (caused by the body"s own immune system); Damage to the covering of nerve cells (myelin) and nerve axons (the extension of the nerve cell that conducts impulses away from the nerve cell body) results in delayed nerve signal transmission; There is a corresponding weakness in the muscles that are supplied or innervated by the damaged nerves;
